Another chunk out!

Well I thought I'd post that Weds we get paid but I have decided to take a chunk out of the ugly debt monster today (scheduled it for Weds.) I'll make the $700 payment on Card 1 and a nice plush $2269.14 payment on Card 3 to bring the total debt down!

Here's the updated debt tracker:

Debt tracker 07/07/08
Card 1: $43117.82 (8.99%)
Card 2: $30411.06 (9.99%)
Card 3: $14999.99 (11.24%)

$88528.87 down from $91498.01! Yippie. So since 04/30/08 the starting point was $109361.82 so we've knocked out nearly $21000 in 2.5 months! I love seeing that Card 3 under 15k Smile.

    Woweeeee!! Amazing! We could not come close to making those huge payments! But I know how hard it is for you to cut down and sacrafice to do this! Good job!

    Thanks guys! Still a long, long way to go for us but we feel like we're making progress. I'm still selling stuff like there is no tomorrow and just trying to scrape and scrap up as much income as I can to throw at this thing. We've just had a really good couple of months income wise and we definately feel blessed that we've been able to cut down as much as we've cut down but it's definately not a sprint. Smile I so wish I could throw that $5000 we set aside for Hawaii on it though!

    Exactly. It's not a sprint. You have to find your pace. But you are making excellent process.

    It just takes perseverance.

    Thanks merch. I've come up with the little goals to keep the motivation (like getting under 15k on card 3 and getting the total debt under 90k and I was able to do both so that feels really good.) I just know it's going to take time (we didn't get into this much debt overnight...so we're not going to get out overnight either.) I'm very positive now that we have a plan.

    Its amazing when you see the debt go down and you start to feel like the weight on your back is getting lighter. I was one point at 70k in debt and have managed to cut it down to 45k in under a year by working like there is no tomorrow. Its nice to see other people doing this as I feel even more motivated to pay down... pay down...

    bill that's great progress. Congrats on keeping the fight up. I'll be dancing when my debt gets down to 45k! Smile We'll both be looking at zero soon enough!
